About Me

My Background in Healthcare
My name is Catrin Broom, and I’m currently a pharmacist working within a GP practice. My journey in healthcare began in 2011 as a pharmacy volunteer. Since then, I’ve worked my way through roles as a pharmacy technician, then qualified as a pharmacist. I went on to complete a Clinical Pharmacy Diploma and Independent Prescribing qualification. Pharmacy has been a significant part of my life for over a decade.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with people managing a wide range of conditions and taking various medications. Medicines can be life-changing and essential, and they play a vital role in many people’s health journeys. However, I’ve also seen instances where symptoms are treated with one medication, only to require another to manage side effects. It’s highlighted to me the importance of prevention, self-care, and exploring ways to support the body naturally, alongside appropriate medical care.

It’s so important that no one stops or changes their medication without first speaking to their pharmacist or doctor. But I believe that, alongside medicine, there’s so much more we can do to support our own wellbeing, from nutrition and movement to emotional balance and stress management.
My Journey into Kinesiology
Over the past few years, I’ve become fascinated by the body’s innate ability to heal itself. When I discovered kinesiology, I was immediately drawn to its holistic approach; one that listens to the body to find out what it needs in order to return to balance. I booked a session for myself and went in with on-off hip pain and absent periods. After muscle testing and gentle techniques to support my body, my period returned just a few days later, and my hip pain significantly improved. That session sparked something in me, I knew I wanted to learn more.

I began my Foundation Kinesiology training in January and completed it in May. Since then, I’ve embarked on the Diploma in Systematic Kinesiology, which I’ll complete by Spring 2026, becoming a fully qualified kinesiologist. I’m passionate about helping people tune into their bodies, discover what may be out of balance, and help people feel empowered in their own health.
