Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a gentle, holistic therapy that uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body. It considers physical, emotional, chemical (nutritional), and energetic factors that may be affecting your health. The aim is to support the body’s natural ability to heal and bring it back into balance.
2. What can kinesiology help with?
Kinesiology can support a wide range of physical, emotional, and energetic imbalances. People often come for sessions when they feel out of sync, overwhelmed, or unsure what's behind their symptoms.
It can help with:
-
Low energy and fatigue
-
Stress or anxiety
-
Digestive issues or food sensitivities
-
Hormonal imbalance and menstrual concerns
-
Sleep problems
-
Emotional blocks or feeling stuck
-
General aches, pains, or tension
-
A desire to feel more balanced and connected

Every session is tailored to what your body needs in that moment, helping to identify and gently release the root causes, not just the symptoms.
3. What happens during a kinesiology session?
You’ll remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a treatment couch. I’ll use gentle muscle testing to assess how your body responds to different types of stress or imbalance. Based on what your body shows, I may use a combination of techniques such as nutritional testing, gentle structural adjustments, energy balancing, emotional release techniques, and lifestyle suggestions.
4. Do I need to be unwell to benefit from kinesiology?
Not at all. Kinesiology is just as effective for those who want to maintain their wellbeing, improve energy levels, or feel more balanced emotionally. Many clients use it as a regular form of self-care or to complement other therapies or medical treatments.
5. How many sessions will I need?
This really depends on your individual needs and what you’re hoping to work on. Some clients feel a shift after just one session, while others benefit from a series of sessions to support deeper or ongoing imbalances. We’ll always tailor the approach to you.

Many people also choose to return every now and again for a ‘balance’, like a reset for the body and mind, especially during times of stress or seasonal changes. Kinesiology can be used as part of your regular wellbeing routine or simply when you feel your body needs some extra support.
6. Is kinesiology safe if I’m on medication or have a diagnosed condition?
Yes. Kinesiology is gentle, non-invasive, and works alongside other medical care. It does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, but it can help support the body’s overall wellbeing. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me before booking.
7. What should I wear to a session?
Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that allow you to move easily, trousers or leggings are ideal. You’ll remain fully clothed throughout the session, but some techniques involve gentle movement of the arms and legs, so unrestricted clothing is helpful.

Please also wear socks, as some aspects of the session may involve working with points on the feet. This helps keep you comfortable and supports a smooth, respectful session.
8. Can kinesiology help with emotional stress?
Absolutely. Kinesiology is known for its ability to uncover and gently release emotional stress that may be stored in the body. You don’t have to relive or talk through difficult experiences. Muscle testing can access and release stress at a deep level, often bringing a sense of relief, calm, and clarity.
9. Is kinesiology suitable for everyone?
Yes, kinesiology is suitable for people of all ages, including children, teenagers, and older adults. It’s always tailored to the individual, so techniques are adapted depending on your needs and comfort level.
10. What’s the difference between an initial consultation and a follow-up session?
Initial consultation is a longer session (usually around 75–90 minutes) where we take time to explore your health history, current concerns, and overall wellbeing. It includes a full kinesiology balance and helps lay the foundation for your ongoing support.

Follow-up consultations are typically shorter (around 60 minutes) and are designed to continue the work from previous sessions or address new issues as they arise. These sessions are also ideal for existing clients who simply want a general "MOT-style" balance to check in, maintain wellbeing, and support the body through life’s natural ups and downs.
